The Bahamas 2007
The April 5 - 22 trip was so successful - many are asking for another trip in the FALL 2007 - IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING A GROUP DOWN IN EITHER LATE OCTOBER OR EARLY NOVEMBER 2007 - PLEASE EMAIL ME AT billylowe@rogers.com - I need to know your tail number, name and phone number and how many people will be on this trip with you. OK all - it's cold outside - not much flying due to the weather - so what do you think about?
Let's start planning our trip(s) to The Bahamas!
I had been given 2 dates by the Bahamas Out Islands
- 3rd - 18th March
- 5th - 22nd April
I need to know how many are ready, willing and able to go on these dates;
The actual destination islands are still up for discussion but you all know I have my favorites.
I need to know who and what dates and how long. The April trip was deliberate to coincide with Sun 'n Fun 17th to 23rd April plus Easter weekend - Good Friday on the 6th April. I would also like to know if you need a full briefing (in other words, if you have never been before) - many of you have seen my presentation but if there are enough that haven't and would like me to do it again or if there is a group with interest - I will gladly go anywhere to give the presentation again.

The Bahamas Here We Come 2007
OK it is time to have our final planning meeting - be at the club Hangar 15 on Sunday, 1st April (No this is not an April Fools joke) 9am for our Final Planning Meeting. So far we have 12 - 15 airplane signed up but not sure who is going when and where and for how long - all kinds of different arrangements - which is good. If you are even thinking of joining us please come to the meeting.

The Bahamas 2007 - NEWS!!
Greetings BFC'ers!
I always seem to pick the coldest days for writing about The Bahamas. Unfortunately, the March dates won't work so that date is now CANCELLED! However, April 6th (Good Friday) to the 22nd is still on and the plan is to tack on SUN 'N 'FUN on the end. Here is the first cut of the schedule:
Fri. 6th April - Leave YKZ - give ourselves 2 or 3 days to make it to FXE (Ft. Lauderdale)
Sun 8th or 9th to Emerald Palms - Andros for 2 - 4 nights
Thurs. 12th to Treasure Cay for 3 nights
Sun 15th to Freeport for 3 nights
Wed. 18th to Orlando / Lakeland for Sun 'n Fun
Fri 20th or Sat 21st Head home depending on weather
I will be holding our first - kick off meeting at 9am Sunday 25th Feb. at the clubhouse

Bahamas Fly Out 2007
We had a wonderful time - 1 night in Congo Town - 2 airplanes - food / menu very much improved - beach still a bit on the rocky side - had to walk a fair distance to enter safely and swim. Moved on the following day.
Some of us spent 4 or 5 nights in Treasure Cay - 11 to 13 of us with 6 airplanes were there and enjoyed the beautiful beach and a Cocktail party hosted by the Bahamas Out Island Promotion Board. There was also a beautiful storm that lasted more than 6 hours with a lightening show that was spectacular. Checked the airplanes the following day - no damage - no problem.
On to Freeport for the All Inclusive Wyndham Viva Resort - there were, at one time 20 of us there with 9 airplanes for up to 4 or 5 nights. We all enjoyed beautiful meals, a beautiful beach, contributed to the local economy at the Casino and the market.
Then some of us moved on to Florida for Sun n Fun - spending money, buying & paying for toys to work for a couple days. Seems a lot less busy than previous years but still a lot to touch and buy. Then home in one day - beautiful, sunny, clear skies day. Overall an EXCELLENT trip with lots of nice people, lots of SUN and a lot of FUN!
Ready to do it again - how about in November - if you have read this far and are interested in flying down with a group in November - email me with your airplane and state your interest for what dates.
