First Flight of Hawk One

On Nov 1st 2008, Hawk one, a fully restored Canadair F-86 Sabre 5 flew for the first time. If all goes well, in the next year Hawk one will fly across the country to celebrate the 100th anniversary of powered flight in Canada. Hawk One is named in honour of the RCAF Golden Hawks aerobatic team.

Our very own Paul Hayes is one of the key ex-RCAF pilots helping the test pilots get up to speed on the single seat, 1950's jet fighter.
